PEORIA, IL — Speak Out Illinois LLC stands with the family, friends, and communities mourning Sonya Massey, a 36-year-old Black woman who was tragically shot and killed in her own home by a former Sangamon County sheriff’s deputy. The trial for the former deputy has been relocated to Peoria County, shifting the focus of this critical case.
