SPRINGFIELD, IL — In response to President Donald Trump’s executive order to dismantle the U.S. Department of Education, Speak Out Illinois LLC is sounding the alarm and taking immediate action to protect the future of public education in America.
“This is more than political posturing — it’s a dangerous attack on our children’s right to learn,” said a spokesperson for Speak Out Illinois. “If this goes unchallenged, millions of students — especially those in marginalized communities — will suffer. We will not stay silent.”
Speak Out Illinois LLC has launched a national petition calling on the United States Supreme Court to intervene and halt this unconstitutional dismantling of a federal agency vital to educational equity and civil rights enforcement.
The petition urges the Court to recognize that removing federal oversight violates the Equal Protection Clause and undermines students' rights to fair, accessible, and nondiscriminatory education.
